How do you put Dubai onto the map of an artistic world? Franco Dragone, one of the world’s most sought-after artistic directors, renowned for shows such as Celine Dion – A New Day, Le Rêve (Las Vegas) and The House of Dancing Water (Macau), that forever changed the face of live entertainment in Las Vegas, was tasked to create a state-of-the-art show that perfectly reflect the essence of Dubai. Inspired by Dubai’s cosmopolitan make-up, its rich heritage and modernity, Dragone has created a Vegas-style show filled with daredevil water and aerial stunts.

Working with more than 130 world-class artistic, athletic and technical team members from 23 countries, La Perle has been touted as the dawn of a new era of entertainment. Staged in the heart of Al Habtoor City, La Perle is the region’s first permanent show boasting 450 performances per year in a tailor-made state-of-the-art aqua-theatre. The 1,300 seat venue is designed for maximum impact. With only 14 rows, seating is wrapped 270 degrees around the aqua stage, creating an intimate experience. There’s no room for disappointment as every seat offers its own unique views. For a special treat, the VIP ticket will get you into a private lounge for pre-show canapés before being escorted to luxurious theatre lounge chairs, designed and positioned for premium views. In addition, the theatre will have an “aqua-stage” filled with 2.7 million litres of water and fountains to accompany the show.

La Perle will be the most awe-inspiring and technically advanced theatre production I have ever produced and directed. New and unique for the region with the world’s best creative team and incredible performers, La Perle is inspired by the spirit of Dubai and will reflect the beauty and flavours of Arabia. It will be the soul of Al Habtoor City,” says Dragone.

The name La Perle was chosen to reflect the high-calibre and elegance of each performer in the show, who have distinguished themselves from other artists around the world and become treasures in the creation of this masterpiece. In addition, the logo’s pearl-shaped fluidity and futuristic connotations are an acknowledgement to the legacy of the UAE and Dubai’s positioning as a city of the future. As the latest tourist attraction in Dubai, La Perle will be a not-to-be missed visitor experience and an iconic show for Dubai, offering an unmatched immersive production that can only be delivered in a purpose-built theatre. London, New York, Las Vegas and Macau all have iconic shows that attract millions of visitors a year. It is time for Dubai to have one of her own.

Another interesting aspect of the show will be the timing in which it will be presented. The evening show will perfectly complement Dubai’s superlative tourism offerings and when the sun goes down, La Perle will shine. Meanwhile, the Al Habtoor City on Sheikh Zayed Road itself makes a great exploration prior to the show. The district comprises three five-star hotels, a vibrant marina promenade as well as stylish cafes and restaurants, so there will be plenty to do while waiting for the performance.

La Perle is staged twice a night, five days a week. Performances are from Tuesday to Friday, 7pm and 9:30pm, and Saturdays at 4pm and 7pm. For more information, visit /laperle.com/en.
