28TH EDITION OF THE AL GAFFAL LONG DISTANCE RACE
One of Dubai’s biggest sailing events, this regatta has been held annually since 1991 and marks the closing event of the water sports season. Starting at Sir Bu Nair Island, the race ends by the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. Watch professional sailors work the traditional Arab sailing boats, the so-called dhows that are 18 metres long, from one of the nearby beaches.

Known locally as Pesta Babulang, the Buffalo Race Festival is significant to the Bisaya community in Limbang, Sarawak. Teams gather at Pusat Kebudayaan Batu Danau and race with their buffaloes, riding bare back. Besides the race, other activities include a beauty pageant, as well as traditional music and dance.
