GUO PEI: CHINESE ART AND COUTURE
The exhibition Guo Pei: Chinese Art and Couture presents a dialogue between historical and contemporary Chinese design, juxtaposing 29 embroidered masterworks by China’s foremost couturière with 20 Chinese art masterpieces in the Asian Civilisations Museum’s collection. Guo Pei’s dramatic, sculptural gowns reflect influences from growing up in Beijing surrounded by Chinese imperial art and mythology.

TERRACOTTA WARRIORS: GUARDIANS OF IMMORTALITY
& CAI GUO-QIANG: THE TRANSIENT LANDSCAPE
In a dual presentation of Chinese art and culture past and present at the NGV in Melbourne, Terracotta Warriors: Guardians of Immortality is a large-scale presentation of the Qin Emperor’s Terracotta Warriors, which are regarded as one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century. Presented in parallel, the exhibition features all new art works by international contemporary artist Cai Guo-Qiang inspired by his home country’s culture and its enduring philosophical traditions.

PIKACHU OUTBREAK 2019
