The Winter Wonderland family event in Hyde Park begins in November each year and keeps the year end festive spirit going right through until January. There really is something for every member of your family at Winter Wonderland: from thrill-seeking rides and carnival games, to colourful markets, food stalls, an ice rink and big top shows.

What better way than to warm yourself with some classic hot chocolate, and take a trip on the ferris wheel to see the twinkling lights from above. Then browse the festive market’s many stalls for take-home keepsakes and inspiring gift ideas.

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland returns 21 November for six exciting weeks of festivities with free admission. What’s great about the event this year is that there will be even more entertainment and new attractions than before. The hugely successful sub-zero experience – The Magical Ice Kingdom – will increase in size with even more fantastical snow and ice sculptures. This year children and adults are invited to walk through the frozen forest and catch sight of the dazzling ice figures, explore the world of frozen princesses, unicorns and the Snow Queen and discover Merlin. Visitors are invited to sit with the Knights of the Round Table and see the spectacular dragon and back by popular demand will be the castle’s ice slide and the ice thrones.

The UK’s largest outdoor Ice Rink stretching over 1,600m2 will also return, and night skaters can look forward to taking to the ice for a spin in the evenings. For those who want to gaze at the action from above, the iconic Giant Observation Wheel will illuminate the skyline.

Other favourite attractions making a welcome return will be over 200 chalets offering unusual and handmade gifts and crafts, including ceramics, candles, jewellery, wooden toys and more. Following their sell-out run last year, the UK’s favourite circus, Zippos Circus returns with two shows – their ever-popular daytime show for all the family, and an evening show for older thrill seekers, Cirque Berserk.

Always quick to sell out, the circus is a perfect treat for all the family featuring comedy and thrills, world-class jugglers, clowns and aerialists. Cirque Berserk features Mechanika, a fast paced show featuring the most dangerous circus acts in the world, including the Globe of Death – the beyond-thrilling spectacle featuring three motorbikes riding together at up to 60mph in an unbelievably small steel globe and much, much more! For a unique experience, book the Zippos VIP box to watch Cirque Berserk, where you will receive fast-track entry, and witness the show from the comfort of your own private box. Both circus shows will be hosted at the awe-inspiring Sky Dome, the newest and biggest tented structure in London standing over 55 feet tall!

In addition there will be many restaurants and stalls with delicious food available throughout the attraction to help you warm up on a cold crisp winter’s day. And for those thrill-seekers, there will be an array of traditional and high energy rides to keep the adrenaline going.

If that’s not enough to lure you to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, remember that it is a huge hit even with celebrity crowds in the past. Those who have been spotted enjoying the festive treats have included Prince Harry, Cara Delevingne, Helena Bonham Carter, Tim Burton, Damien Lewis, Penelope Cruz, Amanda Holden, Uma Thurman, Chris Martin, Tom Cruise, Liam Gallagher and Liz Hurley. So book early and discover what 15 million visitors – and stars – have already enjoyed and discovered.
