Roundup of Royal Brunei Airlines happenings.

More than 900 guests attended the Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) Aidilfitri celebration at the Indah Hall of Peak Performance Centre in Berakas. Government officials, ambassadors and representatives from embassies, business partners, corporate clients, travel agents and colleagues enjoyed the traditional Hari Raya fare. The annual celebration aimed to foster and strengthen relationships between all parties.

Meanwhile, Aidilfitri events were also organised by RB Teams in Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu. Attended by business partners and travel agents, the events highlighted the cultural and traditional aspects of the Hari Raya festivities.


RB organised its annual Ramadhan 1140H/2019M Iftar (breaking of fast) and aid assistance programme on 29 May, 2019. Receiving the aid were 44 orphans from among former RB Staff. The donations were presented by Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Ahmaddin Hj Abdul Rahman, Deputy Chairman of Royal Brunei Airlines at the newly renovated Collaboration Hub at RB Campus.

In Singapore, an iftar gathering was also organised by the RB Singapore office with the Jamiyah Children’s Home (Darul Ma’wa) on 23 May, 2019. Jamiyah Children’s Home houses children from underprivileged families, single parent, parents serving prison sentence, abusive parents, as well as from guardians are not able to care for them. Present at the event was His Excellency Haji Saifulbahri bin Haji Awang Mansor, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Singapore.


Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) always reminded his ummah to continue praying for our leaders. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also encouraged his followers to make prayers for those that have left us, not in any particular month but every time that we pray for ourselves. RB held a recitation of the Surah Yassin and Tahlil for the late parents of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman. Organised by the RB Welfare Committee-Religious Affairs, the delegation was led by Dato Seri Paduka Awang Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal) as the Deputy Chairman of RB. Also present were Dr Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) and Yang Mulia Awang Ahmad Jefri bin Abd Rahman, Head of Legal & Corporate Affairs at the Brunei Investment Agency, Ministry of Finance as members of RB Board of Directors accompanied by RB Senior Management and RB Staff. The recital was led by Imam Haji Muslim bin Haji Abdul Razak from Masjid Mohamed Bolkiah, Kampung Serusop.


Team RB in Singapore moved to a new commercial office on #15-01, 541 Orchard Road, Liat Towers. The relocation was aimed at providing a more seamless guest experience. The office opening was officiated by Guest of Honour, His Excellency Haji Awang Saifulbahri bin Haji Awang Mansor, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Singapore and Mr Karam Chand, RB CEO.


What could be more exciting for a child than spending a day seeing what adults really do all day? On 25 June, 2019, RB hosted its first “Take Your Kids To Work” day. More than 70 children, ranging from four years to 16 years old spent a day at work with their parents. The observance of the day was designed to expose children to their parents’ workplaces and in so doing help emphasise the value of education and create an opportunity for the children to envision their future potential. The children were delighted to see the adults at work as they observe their parents’ daily tasks and experience a typical work environment.


From 1 May to 30 June, 2019, Royal Skies members who dined in with BND30 or more in a single receipt at Excapade, Alter Ego Fusion or High Frequency Lifestyle Café stood a chance to win various prizes, including RB Economy Class tickets. A prize presentation for the campaign was held on 21 June, 2019, at Alter Ego Fusion and High Frequency Lifestyle Café. Javon Leong won one Economy Class ticket to Bangkok. A prize presentation was also held at Excapade in RB Plaza for Nurliza Abd Zabar and Noraniza Halawi who each won one Economy Award Saver ticket to Singapore and one Economy Class ticket to Kuching, respectively.


RB’s People & Performance Division held a successful team building activity recently at Muara Beach on 28 June, 2019. The activities were organised to foster better bonds between members and strengthen relationships with all stakeholders under the division. In addition to team building the group also held a beach clean-up activity and a mini Frisbee tournament.
